Web research project
In this Web research project we did research on Ecommerce referred as the simplest interpretation, a new way of doing business which involves buying and selling services and products throughout the internet. It allows consumers to exchange goods and services electronically without delay basically like an online store without the wait. Taken the form of credit cards, ATMs and telephone banking Ecommerce has been a great success throughout the years. We learned how to protect personal information and what kind of security systems to use. This new way of buying and selling has been use throughout the years. Another research we did was the difference similarities advantages and disadvantages of mac operating systems and Windows operating systems. We talk about how security it has always been good for mac and how for windows operating systems it has been one of their weaknesses because more viruses are targeted toward windows systems. What both have to offer and what you think suits you best.
Most people associate the term hacking as a way of invading personal information and stealing it for malicious, potentially harmful reasons. This article outlines the other types of hackers that can be helpful to protecting your system. It also advises people how to protect their system from potentially harmful software. There are many different ways to prevent any information from being leaked and distributed through other software which can be damaging to your own security. Testing your systems ability to protect your information is important for your safety because it will allow you to update your security systems.
Ecommerce
Ecommerce, otherwise known as electric commerce, is a term used to refer to a business or a type of commercial transaction that transfers information through the internet. It is referred as the simplest interpretation, a new way of doing business which involves buying and selling services and products. It opens perspectives in the market for a wide variety of businesses. Ecommerce also allows consumers to exchange goods and services electronically without delay. It is introduced to the public as a growing aspect of technology and was started in the late 1970s used as Electronic Data Interchange and Electronic Funds Transfer to electronically facilitate commercial transactions. It has taken the form of credit cards, automated teller machines (most commonly known as ATMs) and telephone banking.
Electronic transactions have also been referred to as Electronic Data Interchange. This allows consumers and sellers to set up a data link which allows companies to set up multiple links. Mutually beneficial trade can be conducted in electronic marketplaces where consumers and potential buyers can construct their trade.
E-commerce safeguards that protect me when online are creating passwords. You can also install and update anti-spyware, anti-virus programs. It also helps to regularly scan your computer for spyware and avoid accessing financial information in public. Installing a firewall helps keep hackers from accessing your information.
Mac VS Windows
Mac operating system was originally announced in 1984 mac OS and GUI are the operating systems that were designed by apple. Mac computers are much more stable and reliable then windows. Mac operating systems are fast and the most obvious advantage of installing Mac operating systems is that they are really secure they are not prone to the virus and Malware risks. The fact is that it’s because there aren’t as many users of mac then there is for windows. The security it has always been good for mac and the reason that it is successful it has been inherited and changed throughout the year’s hackers and viruses find it hard to break this security system so you don’t have to keep rebooting your computer again and again. These are the differences between the mac and windows operating systems and some of the advantages that mac has over windows operating systems.
Windows operating systems is first introduced in 1985 but bill gates had initially announced it Microsoft windows in 1983. Microsoft has been really successful throughout all these years and they always sort of had competition with mac computers. There are a lot of advantages windows operating systems have that mac computer systems do not have. One of the advantages that a Microsoft window system has over mac is that it dominates the personal computer market. Which means that windows pc can be customized you can create your own personal computer however you want and what programs you want on it that will be more helpful to you. Majority of people use windows operating systems rather than mac operating systems one of the reasons is that windows operating systems are more affordable than mac operating systems. Windows also gives you the option of managing your security level and gives you popup links that let you know when to upgrade the level on your security system. With these advantages that windows and mac have there are also many disadvantages for both operating systems.
Some of the disadvantages that windows operating systems have are that the majority of viruses, Trojans and other malicious software are targeted at windows pc making you upgrade your security level many times. This is one of the main disadvantages the windows OS has and what users worry about. But there is also disadvantages for mac operating systems the main one being that you cannot upgrade the mac operating system there is no way. Instead every time you would have to buy a new OS which would double the cost because they are very expensive. It is also not a good choice if you are a gamer because there are not many games store in mac operating system.
With both operating systems both have advantages disadvantages and they are both really hard to compare because the two operating systems have so much to offer. From price range to customizing to not being able to upgrade your OS, both systems have their ups and downs. But even though both systems are different from each other the also have some similarities. Some similar traits that they both have are that both systems are using the same kind of Intel Core which is a line of Bit computer processors. Another similarity that both systems have is that even though windows are vulnerable to virus attacks, so are mac operating systems. They are also targeted by virus but users are less susceptible to attacks because most of the viruses are towards windows operating systems since there are many more users of windows then there is mac.
Hacking
The real meaning that most do not associate the word hacking with is ‘the ability and desire to understand the inner mechanisms through which different components of computer programs work.’ Not necessarily referring to hackers whose intentions are to gain access to personal information for their own malicious reasons, hacking into a computer system can be necessary for security. One may hack a computer system in order to set up protection against viruses or potential malicious acts of hacking. In fact, there are different names associated with certain hackers which are used to identify what type of hacker they are. Black hat hackers (also referred to as crackers) are those who hack a computer system for their own enjoyment or to prove their own computer skills. Blue hat hackers are those outside computer security consulting firms that are used to bug test a system prior to its launch, looking for exploits to be closed. Gray hat hackers are those who are borderline legality. White hat hackers are most commonly referred to those who break security, possibly working with manufacturers or owners, to improve weaknesses in a security system. Script kiddies refer to hackers who have little to no computer skills, only following other hackers’ approaches without fully understanding the steps they take to move throughout a system. Hacktivists are the rarest type of hacker and refer to those who utilize technology to announce a political message.
There are multiple steps to take in order to prevent those hackers who have bad intentions from accessing your information such as implementing a firewall which is a barrier that keeps hackers and viruses out of the computers networks by only allowing certain data authorized by the system to pass through. Developing a corporate security policy will help to keep information secured and will require a password consisting of both letters and numbers to make it less obvious, to open any saved information. Passwords should be changed frequently in attempts to limit the hacker’s ability to gain possession of that functioning password. You can also install anti-virus software to protect your network from any viruses that can potentially leak private information. Ideally, servers should be configured to push virus updates out to clients periodically and all employees should have knowledge of viruses and avoid opening any incoming mail from unknown senders. It is also important to know that keeping your system up to date can be essential to keeping your operating system from being hacked. Through doing this, you will already have knowledge of updated versions of any anti-virus or any other type of protection from harmful software to enter your system. Free versions of these kinds of software can usually be found online and installed to your computer for free. Another thing to keep in mind is when installing any type of software is to enable only essential features. Any features enable that may not be used frequently on this software could be a potential threat. When a feature is less likely to be updated regularly, it can present a larger security threat that could potentially leak information or allow others access. Testing your systems ability to prevent hacking is a good way to notify yourself of how updated your system is with protected modes. Conducting a vulnerability test will do just this. It is a cost-effective way to evaluate your current security system. This test will highlight flaws and limitations in the program and also can offer expert advice.
